Samish Island is located approx 1 ½ hours north of Seattle and approx 30 minutes south of Bellingham. Located off Memorial Hwy (Hwy 20 Spur) you are within minutes of Mt Vernon, Burlington, La Connor and Anacortes. Take Farm to Market Rd (SR 237) north, then west on Bayview-Edison Rd which turns into Samish Island Road and will take you right on to the island. Click here for map & driving directions.
The island is surrounded by three bays: Samish Bay to the East and North, Padilla Bay to the West and South, and Alice Bay, a small bay off Samish Bay, on the Southeast side of the Island. Samish Island is a peaceful, pastoral setting with quiet biking trails, fishing and picnic areas.
Samish islanders get together throughout the year including in July, the Annual Samish Island Arts Festival and in November, the Holiday Festival just to name a few. It is the perfect chance to see Samish Island living at its best.
